💯 Digest: Going Bananas Over Google

Enter the post nano banana era, try this feature in Google AI Studio, and watch AI become your real-time assistant...

👋 Hey, it's Max

Alright, I need to come clean about something.

For the longest time, I was that guy who opened Claude or ChatGPT for everything. While Google's AI ecosystem was sitting there, quietly evolving into something brilliant that I was completely blind to. Like that friend who's been secretly training for a marathon while you thought they just liked jogging.

But here’s where my story gets embarrassing.

One day, a friend casually mentioned Google AI Studio, and I assumed it was another enterprise tool. And when I finally opened and saw what I was missing, it kinda blew my mind. This was a full creative suite that felt like Google had taken everything they learned from Colab, Firebase, and their entire cloud ecosystem, then asked what if we made this fun?

Until this week when my entire feed turned into a bunch of people losing their minds over something called "nano banana." It's not a new crypto. It's Google's codename for its new Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model.

If Scott from Chippdotai is using it to turn water into whiskey and Linus Ekenstam is calling this a post Nano Banana era, then it’s safe to say Google’s having its moment.

Lore Brief put it perfectly: we're witnessing a turning point where everyday businesses will no longer need tools like Photoshop to create visuals or make quick edits and instead gain creative control through simple conversations with AI.

If you want to gain that kind of creative freedom, check out this 28-minute tutorial where the Lead product for Google AI Studio (and the Gemini API) himself shows how to create ads, edit images, and vibe code using Gemini 2.5 Flash Image.

What blows my mind about Google’s approach is that they’re not trying to win the chatbot wars but building an entire creative operating system. This week might be a good time for you to dive into it not because it's better than what you're using (that's subjective), but because it's different in ways that might surprise you.

Take the Google AI Studio’s Stream feature. You can literally show Gemini your screen or camera and have a conversation about what it sees. Ciara, our AI Education Lead, uses it to play back her recordings of our bootcamps and ask Gemini realtime tips on how to improve them. Btw, both the Prototyping with AI Bootcamp & AI Agent Builder Bootcamp start again on Sep. 8th.

🧪 Try this 2-minute experiment tomorrow

1. Go to aistudio.google.com (free, no card needed)
2. Click "Stream" → Share your screen
3. Ask: "Help me organize what you see"
4. Watch AI become your real-time assistant
5. Report back. Best one gets featured next week!

The worst thing that could happen is you waste an hour playing with genuinely impressive tech. The best thing is you might discover, like I did, that the future of AI is about having tools that see the world the way you do (messy, multimodal, creative).

Plus, you'll finally understand why everyone's going bananas over a banana 🍌

Window Into the Future 🚀

Two weeks ago, I announced something big. This week, I let AI (aka bananas that are apparently nano) reimagine it:

Teaching in a Google-style office

Streaming setup with RGB lights

Library with ancient books

Speaking at TED talk stage lol

In every timeline, in every setting, the message stays the same. AI literacy isn't optional anymore. It's essential. And in 18 days, we're making it accessible to everyone.
