The 💯 Digest: Why is everyone obsessed with n8n

PLUS: 3 workflows to steal from people already using n8n

👋 Hey, it's Max

Quick heads up before we dive into why everyone won’t stop talking about n8n, we're dropping something new on Tuesday. New chapter of 100 School. Keep an eye on our socials for the announcement. Would love your support when it goes live 💯 ❤️

"I'M IN! Also, i would love to learn more about n8n's please."

That's just one of dozens of emails flooding our inbox lately. The n8n curiosity is real, and honestly, I get it.

Last month, Harold and our friend James Devonport ran a lightning lesson on How to Get Started with n8n ⚡️ showing non-technical folks how to build AI agents from scratch. Careful, you might get hooked on building agents like James did.

Google Trends measures search popularity from 0-100. The chart below shows search interest over the past 12 months: n8n hit 100 (peak popularity) while Zapier maxed out at 24. That means n8n is getting 4x more search interest than Zapier, a 14-year-old company worth $5 billion. n8n launched in 2019.

Today, I’ll explain why n8n is having a moment and give you three real workflows you can steal this Monday.

Why is everyone obsessed with n8n

Look, there’s a lot of noise in AI right now. New tools every week claiming they’re “the future”. But some patterns stick because they solve problems that fundamentally change how we work. That’s what n8n figured out.

  1. The AI boom changed everything: After n8n pivoted to become AI-friendly, their revenue increased 5X, with ARR growing 5x in just the past year

  2. Companies wanted data sovereignty: The ability to self-host unlimited workflows for free (vs paying per-task on cloud platforms) became a massive draw for security-conscious teams

  3. The pricing model just makes sense (mostly): While competitors charge based on tasks and limits, n8n recently removed all active workflow limits you can build as much as you want (I mean..look at the graph below). Though a recent discussion on Reddit shows that some of n8n's biggest fans are disappointed about the new self-hosted business tier pricing.

3 workflows to (shamelessly steal) this week

These are what people are building in n8n right now. Use it as some inspiration for what you could build yourself:

1. Content Research Machine (Marketing)

The Boring Marketer built something that saves him 10-15 hours a week on LinkedIn content. He hates creating LinkedIn content (his words), so he automated the entire thing.

  • You type in a topic (like "n8n" or "workflow automation")

  • It scrapes the top 20-30 YouTube videos on that topic

  • Transcribes all the videos automatically

  • Pulls your top-performing posts from X/Twitter

  • Feeds context + brand voice to Claude 3.5 Sonnet*

  • Drafts LinkedIn post + generates an image with AI

  • Sends it to Slack for your approval

  • Posts directly to LinkedIn with one click

He spent 6 years figuring out that the secret is context. Most people open ChatGPT, type a prompt, get garbage. This workflow feeds the AI transcripts from 30 videos plus uses your actual writing style. That's why it works.

*When feeding your writing style/brand voice to Claude, try to export your last 20 LinkedIn posts, your best tweets, even emails you've written, anything that sounds like you.

2. Lead Scraping Machine (Sales)

This guy went from 10 leads a week to 3,000 in a month.

  • Scrapes Yellow Pages (or similar) for any business type

  • Uses loops to get ALL pages, not just the first one

  • AI extracts name, phone, website, and years in business

  • Bypasses anti-scraping tools with OxyLabs

  • Dumps everything into Google Sheets

  • Pushes leads directly to Lemlist for calling

It works for businesses that aren't on LinkedIn. Doctors, hotels, and local services. They have phones. They answer them. Old school still works. He tested it live on dentists in New York. Got 90 leads with valid phone numbers.

3. Customer Support Escalation (CX)

This one's from someone who ran customer support for 6 years. He built an escalation system that actually works.

  • AI classifies tickets as normal or escalated

  • If escalated: generates a resolution proposal

  • Sends proposal to human manager in Gmail

  • Manager approves or edits (like "offer 30% instead of 10%")

  • AI takes feedback, writes final response

The genius part is that the workflow pauses and waits for human input. It's not trying to replace humans. It's making them 10x faster.

Real example from the video: Customer is angry about a 2-week delivery delay. AI found there's a known issue with watches, checked order status, and proposed 10% refund. Human changed it to 30%. Customer happy.

“But I don’t code”

Good. Most n8n users don’t. It’s boxes and lines.

  • Delivery Hero says non-technical teams used n8n to automate account recovery and save ~200 hours/month.

  • As Takafumi Endo notes: the best AI setups amplify people doing the work, not replace them.

  • n8n’s founder puts it well: the best workflows come from the people living the problems daily.

On Monday: pick one workflow from the ones above or the 4666 templates here, rebuild it with your data, and ship a v1 in 60 minutes.

PS: We’ll be teaching n8n as part of a launch we’re announcing this week so keep an eye on our socials.

Window Into the Future 🚀

This chart has been making rounds in my feed all week:

OpenAI has 80% of everything. Claude's tiny. Everyone else barely registers. But I think we're looking at this wrong.

I posted the other day about upgrading to Claude Pro. £75/month felt ridiculous until I did the math.

For the price of a nice dinner, you get someone who can research all night, code in any language, and read 100 documents before your morning coffee.

The chart shows OpenAI winning. But most people are still comparing AI subscriptions to Netflix instead of comparing them to hiring actual help.
